baguio fiesta - panagbenga

A few weeks ago, my new officemates headed to the Philippines Summer Capital - Baguio City. It was years ago when I last visited Baguio. The Baguio of today is better than the Baguio I know. Development was very evident in every corner and the place seems a lot better. We stayed at the agency's staff house where I met my former officemate, as its new caretaker along with his wife and children. We visited familiar places such as Mines View Park, the Marketplace, Burnham Park, Camp John Hay, Good Shepherd's Convent and to my amazement its all a lot better than before! Here I bonded with my new friends from CBRMP and MDFO - May Rose, Amy, Emma, Roy, Daisy. I tagged along my sister Kith who's very excited since its her first time to visit Baguio.
It was my first time to witness the Panagbenga Baguio City's Flower Parade awaited by its people and visitors. We arrived evening of friday just in time for the saturday morning parade, people are starting to line up the streets, Bernie an officemate who was not able to join us as he was with his family and some relatives told us that the best place to get a better view of the parade is infront of the Postal Office. The parade started at 10am it was such a marvel that government and the private sector joined hands in making it a wonderful event. The next day, was more exciting as giant floats with real flowers take centerstage. There were even celebrities who joined the parade.

We also visited The Philippine Military Academy, Daisy's husband is PMA'er and its Commanding Officer is a good of her. He guided us inside the Campus and wondered its beautiful surroundings.

Truly this visit to Baguio is the best I had. The fresh veggies at the marketplace, the ube jam of Good Shepherd's Convent, the ukay-ukay and other nice things about this great place.

We headed back to Manila with great smile on our faces.
